Prithviraj Sukumaran, the versatile actor who has made his mark in Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi cinema, is all set to play the villain in the upcoming action thriller Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. The film, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, stars Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff as the titular characters, who are on a mission to stop a rogue AI scientist from unleashing havoc on the world.
Prithviraj Sukumaran to play twisted roboticist in BMCM
Sukumaran, who has previously played negative roles in films like Naam Shabana and impressed audiences in Aiyya and Aurangzeb, will be seen as Kabir, a brilliant but twisted roboticist who creates evil AI machines that can outsmart and overpower humans. He will be pitted against Kumar and Shroff, who play a veteran and a rookie cop respectively, in a high-octane chase across exotic locations like Scotland, London, India and UAE.
“Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is an action thriller set against the backdrop of evils in today’s world. While the world is thinking of it as a face-off between Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, Ali Abbas Zafar has mounted it as a two-hero film of Akshay and Tiger teaming up on a common mission,” revealed a source close to the development to Pinkvilla.
It is being reported that the script is written in a way that the negative force warrants the union of two action heroes.
“Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the part of a robotic scientist dealing with AI and Drones. He’s the anti-hero with a strong emotional backdrop, which will make the cat-and-mouse game between the heroes and the villain even more exciting. Ali and his team have even got a special look in place for Prithviraj, which will be unveiled slowly, leading to the release of the film. The team has knowingly kept the look and other aspects of his character. A strong villain makes the hero even stronger, and that’s exactly what the audiences will witness in BMCM,” the source added.
The film, which is same name as of the 1998 comedy of the same name, is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Jackky Bhagnani, Himanshu Kishan Mehra and Ali Abbas Zafar under the banner of Pooja Entertainment and AAZ Films. It is slated to release on Eid 2024, the film is in post production phase and the makers are expected to unveil the teaser on Republic Day 2024.
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is one of the most anticipated films of 2024, as it brings together two of the biggest action stars of Bollywood, along with one of the most talented actors from the south.
Talking of Prithviraj, he is among the most celebrated actors in Malayalam cinema and is presently gearing up for the release of Salaar with Prabhas.
