Operation Sindoor Announced: Bhushan Kumar, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri Team Up For Film Based On Lt Gen K.J.S. Dhillon’s Book

A high-voltage new Hindi film announcement has put Bhushan Kumar and Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri at the centre of a project designed to spark immediate conversation. Operation Sindoor, backed by T-Series and I Am Buddha Productions, is based on Lt Gen K.J.S. ‘Tiny’ Dhillon’s book Operation Sindoor: The Untold Story of India’s Deep Strikes Inside Pakistan, with Agnihotri directing the film.

In the official announcement, the makers described the film as drawing from the codename linked to India’s targeted strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. They have positioned it as a cinematic account rooted in strategic resolve, precision, and the aftermath of the 2025 Pahalgam massacre in Jammu and Kashmir.

T-Series And Vivek Agnihotri Take A Military Story To The Big Screen

The project was formally unveiled by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s I Am Buddha Productions, marking the first major public step for a film that enters a politically charged and deeply contemporary space. The announcement makes it clear that the makers are framing Operation Sindoor not as spectacle alone, but as a statement on courage, military planning, and national response.

Bhushan Kumar said, “Some stories are not chosen, they choose you. Operation Sindoor is one such story, one that demands to be told with honesty, courage, and responsibility. This is not just a film. It is a revelation. When a nation goes through events of such magnitude, it becomes important to document them truthfully.”

Agnihotri said, “With Operation Sindoor, India has not just taken revenge for the Pahalgam terror attack and punished Pakistan, but it has also demonstrated its might in modern warfare.” He further added, “We have conducted extensive, ground-level research in collaboration with multiple wings of the Indian Armed Forces to understand not just what happened, but how and why it happened.”

Why Operation Sindoor Arrives With Built-In Intrigue

With the announcement now official and the creative intent clearly stated, attention naturally shifts to what comes next for the film. The makers have not yet revealed the cast or release date, but the project already carries a distinct identity because of its subject, source material, and the scale of the banner behind it.

What is confirmed is its core framework. Operation Sindoor is being directed by Agnihotri and produced by Bhushan Kumar under T-Series in association with I Am Buddha Productions. The film takes direct inspiration from Lt Gen Dhillon’s published account, which gives the project a defined narrative base while placing it inside one of the most closely watched security stories in recent memory.

That combination gives the film built-in intrigue from day one. A T-Series backed production, directed by Agnihotri and mounted around a sensitive geopolitical subject, is likely to draw close attention for its eventual casting, release strategy, and how mainstream Hindi cinema chooses to interpret a story the makers are presenting as fact-driven and contemporary.
