Pathaan 2 May Be Headed to Chile in Historic Bollywood -Cultural Move
After releasing the historic ₹500 crore blockbuster Pathaan in 2023, Yash Raj Films (YRF) are now raising the stakes for its eagerly awaited sequel, Pathaan 2. Various reports claim the production house is negotiating to shoot most of the film in Chile under a cultural exchange agreement between India and the Chilean government.
This news arose after Chilean President Gabriel Boric Font met Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the latter’s visit to India and then had discussions in Mumbai with leading Indian film producers. Among those he spoke with was actor-producer Anshuman Jha, who revealed the potential Chile shoot for Pathaan 2 and also Lakadbaggha 3.

“There are serious talks of Pathaan 2 from Yash Raj Films and Lakadbaggha 3 being shot in Chile next year and we hope we assist His Excellency’s vision to showcase the beauty of Chile to the world via cinema ideologically and physically.”
According to sources, the Chilean delegation visited YRF Studios, which would indicate location scouting has begun, with the collaboration aiming to bring attention to Chile’s uncharted landscapes through the international lens of Indian cinema; a series such as Pathaan is ideally positioned for doing so.
What To Expect From Pathaan 2: Bigger, Bolder, Global
While the specific plot details are a closely guarded secret, Pathaan 2 should continue the YRF Spy Universe grown from the explosive ending of the first film. With Shah Rukh Khan reprising his role as the titular spy and Siddharth Anand expected to return to direct, the sequel can be expected to feature even larger-than-life, globe-hopping action sequences and narrative crossovers.
Pathaan, it should be remembered, featured Deepika Padukone and John Abraham before Salman Khan showed up for a cameo as Tiger, relating it to the growing YRF spy universe which includes War and Tiger 3.
