Pooja Bedi Recalls Aatank Hi Aatank Intimate Scene With Aamir Khan That Never Made The Final Cut

Pooja Bedi has taken audiences straight back to the 1990s with a candid memory from Aatank Hi Aatank, recalling an intimate scene with Aamir Khan that was filmed in full but never made it to theatres. In a recent chat with Vickey Lalwani, the actor laughed off old gossip around her equation with Aamir and replaced it with a far more vivid behind the scenes story from the set.

Asked about long running rumours that she and Aamir had fallen for each other during the making of the film, Bedi replied, “You got to be kidding me.” She then revisited the filming of a romantic sequence at a bungalow near Mumbai’s Film City, describing it as a moment that was far more awkward in memory than glamorous on screen.

She added that after completing the intimate sequence, she and Aamir were asked to wait together in a room which had a bed. The team shut the door, which made the situation awkward between the two. Pooja, being a young actress back then, shared how the situation made her nervous. “A million thoughts are going through your head,” she recalled, highlighting how stories she had heard about Bollywood made her wonder whether she should be worried.

After the team shut the door, she recalled how they both sat there silently in the room with Aamir.

Pooja recalled that the awkward silence ultimately ended in a way she had not expected. She shared that Aamir simply looked at her and asked, “Want to play chess?,” which instantly eased her worries. “Aamir, I’d love to play chess,” she replied.

Pooja says since the two often played chess together, Pooja happily agreed. Aamir then asked the production team for a chess set to be brought in. She admitted that it was then that she breathed a sigh of relief after the awkward situation.

The Deleted Scene That Still Feels Straight Out Of A 90S Set

Bedi’s recollection has grabbed attention because Aatank Hi Aatank has long occupied an unusual space in 1990s Bollywood memory. The 1995 action crime drama featured Rajinikanth, Aamir Khan, Juhi Chawla and Archana Joglekar, but it never quite found the kind of afterlife that many films from that era did. That makes stories from its sets all the more fascinating, especially when they involve a deleted intimate moment between two stars.

In the same interview, Bedi recalled that after the scene, she and Aamir were made to wait together in a room, and the silence only deepened her discomfort.

What sharpens the anecdote is Bedi’s refusal to turn it into scandal. Instead, she frames it as one of those odd, in between moments that film sets create, where performance ends but self consciousness lingers. It is exactly the kind of memory that fans revisit with fresh curiosity when an actor tells it without polish or posturing.

That resurfaced candour also connects neatly with why Bedi remains such a watchable public figure even now, long after her most visible film years.

Why Pooja Bedi’s Candid Voice Still Cuts Through

In recent years, Bedi has stayed firmly in the public eye through interviews, reality television and pop culture conversations, which is part of why this old set memory has landed so effectively. One of her latest screen credits was the 2020 streaming release Comedy Couple, which brought her to OTT audiences in a new phase of her career while preserving her easy familiarity with media spaces.

Her continuing visibility has helped this anecdote travel beyond simple nostalgia. In today’s clip driven entertainment culture, sharply told throwbacks often spread fast when they feel unfiltered, and Bedi’s conversational delivery gives this one its edge. Rather than leaning on glamour or gossip, she offers a scene, a silence and an unexpectedly ordinary icebreaker, which is precisely why audiences are listening again.
