Prem Keetanu’s new song Kaho Toh was meant to sell swooning romance. Instead, it has landed in the middle of a trolling wave, with online reactions zeroing in on what many viewers are calling flat choreography, weak music and an unconvincing performance from Veer Pahariya. For a film trying to build momentum through its soundtrack, that backlash has quickly become the louder headline.
Kaho Toh Draws Harsh Social Media Reaction
Kaho Toh arrived as the second track from Prem Keetanu, featuring Veer Pahariya and Aafiya Sayed in a romance-heavy setup. Armaan Malik has lent his voice to the song, with lyrics by Sachin Urmtosh, music by Annkur R Pathakk and qawwali portions by Altamash Faridi. The creative idea was to merge a contemporary romantic sound with qawwali flourishes, but the response online has been unforgiving.
Much of the criticism has focused on the visual treatment. Several reactions have mocked the choreography as stiff and lacking chemistry, while others have said the composition does not have the melodic lift expected from a major romantic track. Veer has also become a central target of the trolling, with viewers criticising his expressions and overall acting in the song. Instead of strengthening the film’s pre-release buzz, Kaho Toh has opened up a fresh round of debate around whether the promotional material is working.
Armaan Malik Had Called It A Return To His Romantic Roots
That response stands in contrast to the way the song was introduced by its singer. Armaan Malik said, “‘Kaho Toh’ is an out-and-out Bollywood romantic number, and it always gives me a lot of joy to sing songs like this because they transport you back to a time when these larger-than-life romantic songs were such an integral part of Bollywood films. I’m really happy I got the chance to return to my OG romantic roots with this one.”
He added, “This is also my first collaboration with Annkur, and I really love what he’s done with the song. The blend of that classic Bollywood romance with the Qawwali elements gives it a beautiful character of its own. I’m really excited for people to hear this one.”
Prem Keetanu Heads To Theatres In October
With the song now drawing more criticism than admiration, the spotlight shifts back to whether the film itself can change the conversation. Prem Keetanu is directed by Apoorv Singh Karki and produced by Gaurav Verma under Avanika Films, with Phars Films associated on the project. The cast includes Veer Pahariya, Aafiya Sayed, Aparshakti Khurana, Rakesh Bedi and Nikhil Vijay.
The film revolves around a group of youngsters navigating friendship, first love, one-sided love and heartbreak. It is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 2, 2026, giving the team time to recalibrate the pre-release narrative if the music continues to divide audiences.
Veer Pahariya’s Recent And Upcoming Work
Veer Pahariya made his acting debut with Sky Force, which was released in theatres on January 24, 2025, alongside Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur. The patriotic action drama put him in a high-visibility launch vehicle and marked his first major screen outing in Hindi cinema.
He now has Prem Keetanu lined up for release on October 2, 2026, in a very different romantic space. Beyond that, Veer is also attached to Naam: To Live Is War, a confirmed upcoming project presented by Mahesh Bhatt, with Varun Sharma also part of the film. Together, the three titles show an early career slate moving across action, romance and a darker dramatic zone.
