Pushpa 2 Hindi Version Passes CBFC Certification 48 Hrs Before Release, Controversial Scenes Edited & Deleted ‘R***i’ Word Used 3 Times

Pushpa 2 has passed CBFC certification with a few edits, including the removal of offensive language and a violent scene

Allu Arjun‘s Pushpa 2 – The Rule is all set to hit theatres on December 5, but before the highly anticipated sequel reaches screens, it’s been through the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) process for its Hindi version.

The film has passed the certification with a few cuts and changes, keeping it in line with the guidelines, but some fans may be disappointed with the edits.

Hindi Version Of Pushpa 2 Certified 48 Hrs Before Release

The original Telugu version of Pushpa 2 had already been cleared on November 28, but the Hindi version faced some modifications. As per a Bollywood Hungama report, CBFC requested the removal of certain words and scenes to ensure the film met the requirements for its U/A certification.

For example, the word “Ramavatar” was replaced with “Bhagwan,” and the offensive phrase “Haraam zaada” was cut out three times, replaced with “Haraamkhor.” In addition, there was a dialogue that was altered, though the specifics of the change remain unclear.

One of the more controversial edits involved a scene where an amputated leg flies through the air. This moment, which was also censored in the Telugu version, was removed entirely for the Hindi version.

Similarly, another violent scene showing the protagonist holding a severed arm was toned down by zooming in on the character to avoid showing the full extent of the violence.

CBFC is ensuring that the film adheres to the necessary content standards. The mandatory anti-smoking warnings were also inserted into the scenes where characters are seen smoking, as required by regulations.

The film stars Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil in leading roles. Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 follows the success of the first part, Pushpa: The Rise – Part 01 (2021), which was a surprise hit, especially in the Hindi-speaking markets. The sequel promises more high-octane action and drama, with fans eagerly awaiting its release.

Both Hindi & Telugu Version Have 3Hr 20Min & 38Secs Runtime

The film’s Hindi and Telugu versions both have a runtime of 200.38 minutes and will be released with a U/A certificate. While the film will be released with early paid premieres tonight, the Hindi version will arrive officially on December 5.

However, there’s a slight delay in the release of the 3D version, which will hit screens a week later than expected. Another point of contention for fans is the high ticket prices, which many have voiced disappointment over.
