The excitement around Bhagam Bhag 2 has been building, but Govinda has shut down reports of his involvement. In an interview, the actor revealed he hasn’t been approached for the sequel to the 2006 comedy directed by Priyadarshan.
The original film, starring Akshay Kumar, Govinda, and Paresh Rawal, is still loved by fans almost 18 years later.
Here’s What Govinda Said
Addressing rumours about his return, Govinda told mid-day, “Nobody has approached me for Bhagam Bhag 2 or sat down for a discussion. There are stories of me doing not just Bhagam Bhag 2, but many other sequels, including Partner.”
He also added that any decision to join would depend on factors like the script, his role, the director, and the overall terms.
Bhagam Bhag 2 Was Recently Confirmed
While Govinda hasn’t been contacted, the sequel has been confirmed. Filmmaker Sarita Ashwin Varde of Roaring River Productions, who has acquired the rights to the franchise, shared her thoughts on the project.
“A special film like Bhagam Bhag deserves a sequel that’s just as special. When the time was right, we decided to take the plunge,” she said.
The script is reportedly close to completion, with production expected to begin in mid-2025. According to insiders, the makers are promising a sequel that will be “madder, crazier, and funnier.” However, details about the cast and story remain under wraps, leaving fans wondering if the original trio will return.

For fans of Bhagam Bhag, the original remains a source of laughter and nostalgia. Featuring an ensemble cast including Lara Dutta, Jackie Shroff, and Rajpal Yadav, the film’s hilarious plot twists still entertain audiences. It is currently streaming on Prime Video.
While his participation in Bhagam Bhag 2 is uncertain, Govinda has new projects lined up. During his appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show, he revealed three upcoming films: Bayen Haath Ka Khel, Pinky Darling, and Len Den: It’s All About Business.
Govinda, who is known for his impeccable comedic timing, shared that these films were carefully selected to mark his return to the big screen. His last film, Aa Gaya Hero, was released in 2019.
