Allu Arjun has always been a big name in the south, but with the success of Pushpa: The Rise, he’s become a national hero. The film did extraordinarily well in numerous regions of the country, making it one of the year’s highest-grossing films. Due to the popularity of the Hindi version, the makers are now working on the sequel, Pushpa: The Rise, and are even making adjustments to the pre-determined storyline.
Pushpa is an action-drama film that was released in theatres on December 17, 2021. The film, directed by Sukumar of Arya fame, stars Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in the key roles. The Telugu film debuted on Amazon Prime last week, and the Hindi version is expected to debut on the streaming service on January 14, 2022.
Contrary to rumours, the second portion of the film, Pushpa 2, will not feature any Bollywood stars, according to a recent report by Bollywood Hungama. A source told the publication, “Allu Arjun is enough of a pan-India star. Pushpa: The Rise has done to his fan-following in North India what Baahubali had done to Prabhas. Pushpa: The Rule can only enhance Arjun’s all-India appeal.”
According to the rumour, actor Fahadh Faasil will play a larger role in the future film. “Physical and emotional combats between the two (Allu and Fahadh)” will be more prevalent.
The producers have also opted to begin filming on Pushpa 2 earlier than planned, noting the success of the first instalment. The same source confirmed that the film will begin production in April 2022. The source said, “No one expected Pushpa: The Rise to be such a nationwide blockbuster, especially during these pandemic times. Now that it has surpassed all expectations at the box office even in the Hindi belt, Sukumar will be re-writing some crucial sequences in the sequel to make it more accessible to Hindi audiences.”
