Pushpa 2 Makers Delete ‘Dammunte Pattukora’ Song Sung By Allu Arjun Hours After Release Amid Legal Troubles

Pushpa 2 makers removed the song "Dammunte Pattukora" after its release, amid controversy over its bold lyrics and ongoing legal trouble.

The makers of Pushpa 2 have pulled down the song “Dammunte Pattukora” from all social media platforms after it sparked widespread controversy. The song (sung by Allu Arjun and composed by Devi Sri Prasad) was released by T-Series on December 24 but was quickly deleted hours later due to its provocative lyrics and the timing of its release.

Pushpa 2 Latest Song DELETED Few Hours After Online Drop

The song features a tense confrontation between Pushpa Raj (Allu Arjun) and the police officer Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat (Fahadh Faasil).

The lyrics have been penned by director Sukumar & include bold lines such as “Dammunte pattukora Shekhawat” (“If you have the guts, catch me, Shekhawat!”) and “Pattukonte vodilestha syndicate” (“If you catch me, I’ll leave the syndicate”).

These lyrics emphasise Pushpa’s fearless defiance and promise to return to his roots as a labourer if caught. While the song was well-received by fans for its energetic and rebellious tone, it also raised concerns due to its controversial content.

The timing of the song’s release has led to divided opinions online, with some questioning the impact of the song’s provocative lyrics on the investigation of the Hyderabad stampede case.

Hours after its upload, T-Series removed the song from all platforms. This was reportedly done out of concern that it might provoke further controversy. Although the song’s bold lyrics had initially intrigued fans, the potential for negative backlash led to the swift decision to take it down.

Allu Arjun Currently Under Investigation For Hyderabad Controversy

The release of the song coincided with a sensitive issue. Not to forget, Allu Arjun is currently under investigation in connection with a tragic stampede that occurred during the Pushpa 2 premiere on December 4. The incident resulted in the death of a woman and left her eight-year-old son critically injured.

The makers of Pushpa 2 announced a financial contribution of Rs 2 crore to support the family of the victim. The donation will go to the eight-year-old boy, Sri Teja, who is recovering in a hospital in Hyderabad. The money will be distributed with Rs 1 crore coming from Allu Arjun, Rs 50 lakh from Mythri Movie Makers, and Rs 50 lakh from director Sukumar. Allu Aravind, speaking on behalf of the team, confirmed that Sri Teja was no longer on a ventilator and was showing signs of recovery.

Earlier, Allu Arjun had committed to providing Rs 25 lakh to aid in the boy’s recovery and has remained actively involved in ensuring the family’s well-being. However, Allu Arjun is also being asked to appear for an inquiry regarding the stampede. Reports suggest that the actor was informed of the woman’s death during the incident while he was still present at the theatre.

Meanwhile, Pushpa 2: The Rule continues to perform well in cinemas, with strong showings in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam markets worldwide. Despite the ongoing legal troubles, the film has maintained its success since its release on December 5.
