Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt recently shed light on the behind-the-scenes challenges of working with two lead actresses. Bhatt, known for his horror and thriller films, recounted how vanity often took centre stage on his sets, affecting the continuity of scenes.
Reflecting on his experiences during an interview with News18, Bhatt mentioned the absence of makeup vans in the past, which added to the complexity of managing two actresses on set.

He shared that it was common for actresses to be concerned about each other’s outfits and hairstyles, leading to subtle changes in makeup to outshine one another. “They would slyly change their lipstick colours and eyeshadow shades to look better than the other,” Bhatt said. This, he explained, disrupted the continuity of scenes, a crucial aspect of filmmaking.
Despite noticing these changes, Bhatt and his team decided to prioritise the actresses’ comfort. “We realised that as directors and producers, we need to make the actors comfortable in their skin. If it takes the right shade of lipstick to do it, so be it,” he stated, highlighting the importance of actors feeling confident to perform their best.
Filmmaker Praises Avika Gor Who Stars In Bloody Ishq
Bhatt’s latest film, Bloody Ishq, stars Avika Gor, and he expressed his relief and admiration for her professionalism. This collaboration marks their second project together, following ‘1920’. Bhatt praised Gor for her lack of vanity and dedication to her roles.
“In ‘1920’, she had to wear the same blood-covered costume for almost the entire second half of the film. She never once asked to change her costume or adjust her hairstyle,” Bhatt revealed. He appreciated Gor’s focus on her performance over her appearance, stating, “She never cared about those things in 1920 or Bloody Ishq. To me, that is a sign of an actor before a star, and that is rare.”
