Rajkummar Rao’s recent release Stree 2 has crossed Rs 600 crore globally and is setting new records. Fans are comparing the film to the Avengers, and in an interview, Rao shared his take on this comparison and more.
Rajkummar Rao On Stree 2 Being Called Indian Avengers
Rao was pleased with the “Indian Avengers” label, seeing it as a compliment. He told Bollywood Hungama, “This is a good thing. If we have made an Avengers in such a low budget, it’s a win for Amar Kaushik and Dinesh Vijan.”
This praise highlights how the film has made a big impact despite its modest budget.
Actor Chooses Stree Over Sarkata, Talks About Bhediya Varun & More
In a lively rapid-fire session, Rajkummar Rao had some fun answering quirky questions. When asked to choose between Stree and Sarkata as a best friend, he favoured Stree, joking, “I think Stree because she has a soft corner for me. In part one also, I cut her pony but she didn’t hurt me.”
Rao also said, “I like Stree. She is very sweet and wears a pink saree with a half veil. She scares me and calms down too when she looks into my eyes. Stree is my mother-in-law,” he quipped.
Regarding what Stree 2 would be incomplete without, Rao pointed out, “Amar Kaushik (director) and Dinesh Vijan (Producer).”
If he could swap lives with a character from Stree, Rao would be fine with Vicky, saying, “I am okay with Vicky. He is very chill.”
He also expressed satisfaction with the current storyline, stating, “Nothing. I like Stree as it is.”
On a playful note about keeping Bhediya away from Shraddha Kapoor’s character, Rao quipped, “Varun is my friend. And, six years ago I did ‘Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe’ with Kriti Sanon. So, he also deserves to do ‘Khoobsurat.’”
When asked about his possible cameo in Vampires of Vijay Nagar, Rao refused to divulge details. “I can’t say,” he said.
Rajkummar Rao On What Will Release First – Bhediya 2 Or Stree 3?
Rao was unsure whether Bhediya 2 or Stree 3 would hit theatres first. “Maybe Bhediya 2 because Bhediya 2 has not been released but Stree 2 did. Amar has a basic idea for Stree 3. It will be made for sure. We will try to make it better than parts 1 and 2,” he said.
On a more personal note, Rao admitted he would avoid a ghost if he ever saw one. “If I encounter one for real, I won’t be like ‘come here what’s your problem.’ Of course, I will try to avoid it,” he said.
Rao praised his chemistry with Shraddha Kapoor and his co-stars Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana. He said each on-screen relationship brings something special to his performances.
