Raj and DK are the most interesting and exciting filmmakers in Bollywood. Starting with small independent films, they have eventually become one of the most sought-after and in-demand filmmakers. Their last show, Amazon Prime Video’s Farzi starring Shahid Kapoor, was well received and is one of the most watched shows on that streaming platform from India.
The duo is now coming up with a new series titled Guns and Gulaabs. The shows’ official trailer will release on 2 August and ahead it the release, the makers have come up with a motion poster featuring Rajkummar Rao. The motion poster starts with a voiceover, “Gulaabgunj ki shaan, paane se phaad de sabki, paanadhaari Tipu yeh hi hain.”
We then see Rajkummar in a bright orange shirt with denim pants and jacket, carrying a paana (spanner) under his belt. He tries to spin the spanner, but it slips from his hands and he fumbles to hold on to it. Rajkummar leaves it and goes back into his heroic pose.
About Guns & Gulaabs
Guns and Gulaabs is created by Raj & DK who are two of the most interesting voices in the streaming space. The series stars Rajkummar Rao, Dulquer Salmaan, and Adarsh Gourav. The story is reportedly set in the 1990s in a town called Gulabganj and revolves around gangsters. The genre-bending series also has T.J. Bhanu, and Gulshan Devaiah in pivotal roles. Ever since its announcement, people have been really excited to see this project. Particularly because of Raj DK’s track record with shows like The Family Man and the recently released Farzi.
Rajkummar Rao’s Upcoming Projects
Rajkummar was last seen in Anubhav Sinha’s Bheed which was based on the migrant crisis during the 2020 lockdown. He is set to portray the role of blind entrepreneur Srikant Bolla in Sri. Raj is also teaming up with Janhvi Kapoor once again for Mr and Mrs. Mahi. He is also doing a film with Vaani Kapoor titled Bachpan Ka Pyaar to be produced by Anubhav Sinha. Currently, he is busy filming for Amar Kaushik’s horror comedy Stree 2, along with Shraddha Kapoor. The film is a sequel to the successful 2018 film Stree.
