Ashutosh Gowariker is taking a break from historical dramas to work on an action feature for his next project. Farhan Akhtar will play the lead in the film, which is being produced by Excel Entertainment. Rakul Preet Singh has been cast as the film’s female lead, according to reports.

The film’s title, according to the latest reports, is Pukar. The film is described as a contemporary action picture set in a forest, with Akhtar as a forest ranger, a police officer tasked with patrolling and guarding a forest. Gowariker’s project is expected to begin production in Mumbai in early December. Rakul will join the shoot after finishing the filming of Chhatriwali.
According to reports, Jagapathi Babu, a South Indian actor, will play the antagonist in the film. This will be Babu’s first Bollywood film, and he will star opposite Akhtar in a supporting role.
After 15 years, Javed Akhtar will return to writing screenplays and stories for the film. The film is one of Excel Entertainment’s most prominent projects, and it will be produced on a massive scale.
