Ramayana Advance Bookings Open On Dussehra As Ranbir Kapoor And Yash’s Epic Locks November 5 Release

With just over two weeks to go for its theatrical debut, Ramayana is entering its next big phase. Advance bookings for the Ranbir Kapoor and Yash-led mythological spectacle are set to open across India on Tuesday, October 20, aligning with Dussehra and giving the film a festive launchpad ahead of its worldwide release.

The booking rollout is expected across major ticketing platforms, marking the first major consumer push for one of the biggest Indian films of 2026. The move comes after the makers locked November 5, 2026, as the worldwide release date for Ramayana, which will play in premium large formats including IMAX.

Advance Sales Begin Ahead Of November 5 Release

The Dussehra timing gives the film a symbolic boost. For a story so deeply tied to India’s cultural memory, opening ticket sales on October 20 adds an emotional charge to the campaign just as the countdown to release begins in earnest.

Ramayana will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, giving it a wide pan-India footprint from day one. The premium-format push also signals the kind of theatrical experience the makers are aiming for, with the film positioned as a large-screen event rather than a routine festive release.

A Two Part Epic Backed By A Global Team

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The film has been envisioned as a two-part retelling, with the second instalment already dated for Diwali 2027.

Its scale is evident in the names attached to it. Alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi, the film also features Sunny Deol and Ravie Dubey, while Hans Zimmer and A. R. Rahman come together for the music. That combination alone gives Ramayana a rare crossover pull, blending mainstream star power with a technical and musical canvas designed for a grand theatrical outing.

Why This Adaptation Stands Apart

What gives Ramayana extra weight is the challenge of reimagining one of the most familiar stories in Indian tradition for today’s theatrical audience. The central dynamic between Rama, Sita and Ravana is already deeply embedded in popular imagination, which means the film’s impact will depend not just on casting, but on how convincingly it transforms that mythic world into a modern big-screen experience.

That is also what makes the film a pivotal title for Ranbir Kapoor at this moment in his career. After the commercial highs of Animal and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar in 2023, Ramayana places him at the centre of a far more mythic, image-defining project, one that could shape how his stardom travels across languages and markets.

For now, though, the immediate test begins with bookings. With tickets opening on Dussehra and the release date fixed for November 5, Ramayana is officially shifting from anticipation to audience action.
