Ramayana Set To Be India’s Biggest Mythological Epic — Political Endorsement, Star Power, And Global Hype Align

Already making headlines prior to its release, Ramayana marked the expected box office debut of Nitesh Tiwari’s adaptation of the Indian epic. Featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Raavan, Ramayana has continued to be an absolute contender for the largest mythological spectacle in Indian cinema history.

“@NiteshTiwari’s Ramayana!” said Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in a strong early endorsement at the Waves Summit 2025 held in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, adding “ “I was amazed to see the quality of Ramayana that you are creating. I believe what you are setting up will be the best in the globe.”

This comment came in the midst of a discussion with writer-producer Namit Malhotra and surely set off further excitement and anticipation for Ramayana. Throughout the summit, Fadnavis emphasised, “It was important to find a balance between ancient India’s storytelling with modern technology.” Ramayana seems to be accomplishing this on a large scale.

Yash Vs Kunal Kapoor: An Epic Showdown

According to a report, Ramayana will include a massive action face-off featuring Yash (Raavan) and Kunal Kapoor (Lord Indra).

The series is said to have large sets, cutting-edge VFX, and stunning stunt choreography — it promises to be a treat for cinema enthusiasts.
