Saif Ali Khan Breaks Silence On Viral “Adipurush Apology” Clip – It Wasn’t What You Thought
Amid a world dominated by fragmented thoughts and half-stories, Saif Ali Khan has cleared the air on something that became public fodder very quickly. The actor’s playful moment with his son Taimur in a viral video had many speculating that he was apologising to his son for letting him watch Adipurush. But now the Sacred Games star has come forward with the truth – and it has nothing to do with feeling guilty about the movie.
“I apologised to Tim for being the evil villain in the film. I was growling and smashing everyone in sight! He said next time you should play the hero. I stand by all my films, and this one too,” Saif said in a new statement.
Saif Ali Khan, who played Lankesh – a reimagined Ravana – in Adipurush, stated that Taimur had a very common response during his dad’s transformation into a villainous persona. But the actor insisted he was proud of his work and the movie.
The clarification comes as discussions exploded online following Saif’s clip from Netflix’s promo for Jewel Thief, where he starred alongside Jaideep Ahlawat. In that clip, Saif recounted Taimur looking at him mid-viewing, resulting in the apology that went viral without the specific context.
The actor’s insight provides not just clarity but also some delight in father-son relationships that fans have been admiring. Adipurush is one of the most popular films from the past twelve months, primarily because it not only reimagined a classic myth but also showcased daring performances. In many respects, Saif’s very blunt assessment has opened up a whole new layer of discourse when it comes to the film.
A Look Back At Lankesh
In Adipurush, Prabhas features as Raghava (Ram), and Kriti Sanon plays the role of Janaki (Sita). Saif’s Lankesh was contentious, but a certain group of fans appreciated his stylised villainy and approached this role with important heft. In short, and after further clarification from the actor, the actor seems resolved to maintain his agency in creative choices.
Saif Ali Khan is famously starring in the Oppam Hindi remake opposite Akshay Kumar and is one of the few Bollywood actors not fearful to undertake a creative journey—even if it means facing flak.
