Ranbir Kapoor is caught up with two of his biggest films – Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love And War. While the actor is currently filming the romantic epic, he had already wrapped most of his work for Ramayana last year.
Now, reports suggest that the team is shooting patchwork scenes using his body double.
Ranbir Kapoor’s Body Double Steps In For Ramayana Patchwork
A source close to the production shared with mid-day, “Ranbir has finished almost all his important scenes for the first part of Ramayana. Only minor patchwork is left, which can be done without him. Since he had already committed his dates to Love And War, the Ramayana team planned the schedule to avoid any delays.”
The source added, “Right now, a few small sequences are being filmed with a body double, after which the first part will be officially complete.”
The much-anticipated mythological epic is planned as a two-part project. If everything goes smoothly, the second instalment is expected to begin shooting in May. Since the film is packed with VFX-heavy sequences, the director will focus on extensive post-production work over the next few months.
Actor To Return For Filming Part 2 In June
Ranbir Kapoor is expected to return for Ramayana Part 2 in June. Speaking at the Red Sea International Film Festival last year, he called the film the ‘greatest story ever’. He also praised producer Namit Malhotra (who happens to be his childhood friend) for assembling an exceptional creative team. Kapoor admitted feeling ‘humbled’ to take on the ‘dream role’.
The film also stars Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman and Yash as Ravana. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana Part 1 is set to release on Diwali 2026, followed by Part 2 on Diwali 2027.
