Ramayana Begins Full-Scale Campaign As Ranbir Kapoor Starrer Trailer Launches In New Delhi On July 18

The countdown for Ramayana has entered its most public phase yet. Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious mythological epic is set to unveil its trailer on July 18 at a large-scale event in New Delhi, a move that signals the official beginning of the film’s full-blown promotional push.

Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that the launch will take place at Bharat Mandapam, with director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra confirmed to attend. Several members of the ensemble cast are also expected to be part of the event, turning the trailer unveiling into one of the most closely watched film showcases of the month.

The July 18 Launch Marks A Major Campaign Shift

Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Ravie Dubey, Rakul Preet Singh and Kunal Kapoor are confirmed to be present for the trailer unveiling. The attendance of other principal cast members, including Yash and Sunny Deol, remains unconfirmed at the time of publication.

That detail alone underlines the scale with which Ramayana is being positioned. The film has steadily built intrigue through first-look assets and production updates, but the New Delhi event is expected to offer audiences their most extensive look yet at the adaptation, its visual design and its central performances.

The July 18 launch also arrives at a time when anticipation around the film has been intensifying across the trade and audience circles alike, largely because of the project’s scale and the names attached to it.

What Ramayana Brings Together

Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. Sunny Deol portrays Hanuman, while Ravie Dubey essays Lakshman. Rakul Preet Singh stars as Surpanakha, and Kunal Kapoor appears as Lord Indra. Adinath Kothare, Lara Dutta, Sheeba Chadha and Arun Govil are also part of the cast.

Backed by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with DNEG, the film is conceived as a two-part cinematic adaptation of the ancient Indian epic. Tiwari, best known for Dangal and Chhichhore, is directing the project, while Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman are collaborating on the score. The film follows the journey of Ram and Sita, and the larger conflict with Ravana, in a scale-driven retelling of one of India’s most enduring epics.

Part one of Ramayana is scheduled for a Diwali 2026 theatrical release, with part two scheduled for Diwali 2027.

Ranbir Kapoor’s Recent And Upcoming Work

Ranbir Kapoor’s most recent theatrical releases were Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar and Animal, both released in 2023. Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, co-starring Shraddha Kapoor, marked his return to a mainstream romantic entertainer, while Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, emerged as a blockbuster and became one of the defining Hindi film successes of the year.

His next confirmed theatrical release is Ramayana in 2026, followed by Love & War in 2027. At this stage of his career, Kapoor appears to be leaning decisively into large-format event films, and Ramayana now stands at the center of that shift.
