The campaign around Ramayana is stepping into a more visible phase. After the film’s first official poster and teaser were unveiled earlier this month, Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that the makers are preparing to begin promotions in the United States by the end of next week, with Ranbir Kapoor, director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra leading the film’s first major appearance since that unveiling.
What makes this move especially notable is the shift in how Ramayana is now being presented to audiences. Until now, the film had lived in the realm of announcement imagery, casting intrigue and the sheer curiosity surrounding its scale. An overseas kickoff gives the project a stronger on-ground presence and turns attention toward the faces driving one of Hindi cinema’s most closely watched mythological spectacles.
The First Major Promotional Move
The US visit marks an important next step for the film’s rollout. So far, the buzz around Ramayana has been powered by the weight of its title, the scale of its ambition and the excitement around who is playing whom. With Ranbir Kapoor joining Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra for this promotional leg, the film is now moving into a space where audiences can expect a more direct introduction to the vision behind it.
It’s reported by Variety India that Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Rama in the film, director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra (of DNEG) will hold a media interaction event in a few days. The event, scheduled sometime March-end, will showcase assets from the mega-budget film.
With the film reportedly being made at a massive budget, a massive star-cast, Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman coming together to score the two-part saga, anticipation around the film in the US and globally is sky-high.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and mounted by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations also backing the project, Ramayana brings together a line-up that has already kept the industry talking. Ranbir Kapoor headlines the film as Ram, Sai Pallavi stars as Sita and Yash steps into the role of Ravana, while Sunny Deol and Ravi Dubey are also part of the ensemble. Conceived as a large-scale screen retelling of the Indian epic, the first part is scheduled to arrive in November 2026.
The teaser and poster had already offered a glimpse of the film’s visual sweep. This next stop matters because it lets the makers carry that excitement into an actual promotional moment, and for Ranbir Kapoor, it arrives just as his career is heading into another crucial big-screen chapter.
Ranbir Kapoor’s Recent And Upcoming Work
Ranbir Kapoor was last seen in Animal in 2023, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, which emerged as one of the year’s biggest box office successes. Earlier that year, he appeared opposite Shraddha Kapoor in Luv Ranjan’s Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, returning to the romantic comedy space with ease. In 2022, he led Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, directed by Ayan Mukerji, another major theatrical release in his filmography.
That makes Ramayana one of the most significant confirmed films in Kapoor’s current line-up. He is also attached to Love & War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and co-starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. With both titles carrying immense scale and expectation, Kapoor is entering a phase where every appearance tied to these projects will be closely watched, and this US promotion for Ramayana now becomes the first real marker of that journey.
