Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari‘s ambitious project, Ramayana, has commenced its shooting, marking the beginning of an epic cinematic journey. Anticipation has soared as the stellar cast, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman, gears up to bring this timeless tale to life.
Amidst swirling speculations, it was rumored that Yash would portray the formidable antagonist, Ravana. However, latest update rubbishes all those reports.
Yash NOT Playing Ravana In Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana
According to a recent report by Zoom, Yash has opted to step into a different role, that of a producer. Sources close to the production revealed that Yash’s decision stemmed from a desire to contribute creatively rather than merely acting, as he agreed to forego a hefty fee of Rs 80 crore in favour of a producer’s role.
Reportedly, Director Nitesh Tiwari is ‘upset’ by leaked images unveiling the cast’s appearances and characters, and has taken stringent measures to maintain secrecy on set. With a strict no-phone policy enforced, Tiwari aims to safeguard the film’s surprises and maintain the aura of anticipation surrounding Ramayana.
Earlier, it was also reported that Bobby Deol will play Kumbhkaran in the film and Vijay Sethupathi will be seen as Vibhishan, Ravana’s youngest brother. Lara Dutta and Sheeba Chaddha are also set to grace the screen, with Lara stepping into the role of Kaikeyi and Sheeba portraying Manthara.
Scheduled for a Diwali 2025 release, Ramayana promises to captivate audiences with its grandeur and narrative depth.
Yash’s Upcoming Project
Amid the news surrounding Ramayana, Yash is gearing up for his next film, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups. Directed by Geetu Mohandas and produced by KVN Productions and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the film promises an action-packed narrative set against the backdrop of the drug mafia.
Scheduled for release on April 10, 2025, Toxic will also star Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sai Pallavi in pivotal roles.
