Ranbir-Alia Starrer Brahmastra’s Official Budget Is 400 Cr! Won’t This Dated PR Just Before The Release Work Against The Film & Create Unnecessary Expectations?

Such claims and revelations are no longer exciting to the audience. On the contrary, such news further increase pressure.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Brahmastra, one of the most expensive films ever produced in Bollywood, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.

According to reports, the official budget for Ayan Mukerji’s film, which does not include print and publicity costs, is Rs 410 crore. The movie may cost between 450 and 500 crores when all costs are included. Additionally, it is said that the multiplexes would price the movie in line with its budget, which means that admission fees will be on the higher side. Producers Dharma Productions, Star Studios, and distributor Walt Disney Motion Pictures are sure that Brahmastra will work its magic not only on audiences’ hearts but also at the box office.

However, such claims and revelations are no longer exciting to the audience. On the contrary, such news further increase pressure. These findings ought to be made public after the movies have screened and people are praising them. Also this very dated PR to claim a film as costliest ever. There have been instances in past when these so called costliest ever films bombed due to unnecessary expectations :

1. Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raaja
2. Bombay Velvet
3. Saawariya
4. Love Story 2050
5. Drona
6. Mangal Pandey
7. Mela
8. Ajooba
9. Blue
10. Raju Chacha

Rather simple honest statements before release will help film more than claiming it to be costliest or at par with Hollywood types of claims.

The eight-year production offers an ensemble cast that includes Mouni Roy, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and the great Amitabh Bachchan. The stakes have increased as a result of superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s participation as a guest. According to reports, Ranbir demanded the maximum payment of between Rs 25 and Rs 30 crores from his performers, while Alia, Amitabh, and Nagarjuna each received between Rs 10 and Rs 11 crore. Additionally, Ayan’s director fee has not yet been released, while Mouni Roy has received a charge of Rs 3 crore.

Speaking of Brahmastra, the upcoming movie is a fantasy adventure drama based on Hindi mythology and talks about the world of Astras. The film has been slated for a theatrical release on September 9, 2022. And if the first part succeeds, the makers are looking forward to creating a trilogy.
