“The team is planning to commence work on this ambitious project in the April/May window and shoot it extensively over a period of six months. Apart from Ranbir, it also features Bobby Deol, Parineeti Chopra and Anil Kapoor in key roles and their bulk combination dates are being worked upon,” revealed a source close to the development to Pinkvilla. The film is a family drama about gangsters that explores the dark side of human emotions. According to rumours, Ranbir portrays a psychopath in the film, but this has yet to be confirmed. The film will be released in theatres in 2023.

Ranbir will finish his ongoing Luv Ranjan directorial, which also stars Shraddha Kapoor, before moving on to Animal. And the film will target a release by the end of 2022,” the source added.

Meanwhile, Ranbir is about to wrap shooting Brahmastra, directed by Ayan Mukerji, the most ambitious film of his career. The team plans to shoot a big song and some talkie segments before wrapping out in November. The makers are aiming for a late May/June 2022 release, according to our sources, but the final decision will be made once the shoot is completed, depending on the Summer release calendar.
