Ramayana Teaser Launch At Los Angeles: Ranbir Kapoor Calls Lord Ram The Conscience Keeper Of Billions, “Lord Ram Is Maryadapurushottam…”! WATCH

A reverent speech, a packed Los Angeles room and a quote now echoing across social media have together turned Ramayana into one of the week’s biggest conversation points. At a special screening event for the film’s teaser, Ranbir Kapoor spoke about portraying Lord Ram with unusual emotional clarity, giving fans an early glimpse of how seriously he is approaching one of the most significant roles of his career.

Standing beside producer Namit Malhotra and director Nitesh Tiwari, Ranbir told the audience, “Lord Ram has been the conscience keeper of billions of people around the globe for centuries and he will continue long after we have gone.” He added, “He enlightens about the triumph of human spirit in terms of adversities, compassion, courage, righteousness and forgiveness. He is called Maryada Purshottam, which stands for an ideal man.” The speech has since gone viral, not just for its scale of sentiment, but for the sincerity with which the actor framed the character.

Ramayana Begins Its International Push

The Los Angeles event marked an important step in the film’s international rollout. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. Sunny Deol and Ravi Dubey are also part of the cast, adding further weight to a film that has been closely tracked since its announcement.

The project is planned as a two-part adaptation, with Ramayana Part 1 scheduled for Diwali 2026 and the second part for Diwali 2027. The film has also drawn attention for its music collaboration between Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, a creative pairing that reflects the makers’ effort to mount the epic for audiences well beyond India. In that context, Ranbir’s Los Angeles remarks felt especially meaningful, because they aligned performance, faith and presentation in a single moment.

That wider positioning also says something about where Ranbir Kapoor stands today. As Ramayana expands its global conversation, the film is beginning to look less like a single big release and more like a defining marker in his evolving screen identity.

Why Ramayana Marks A Key Turn In Ranbir Kapoor’s Career

Over the past few years, Ranbir has moved across very different mainstream spaces. In 2023, he starred in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, a romantic comedy opposite Shraddha Kapoor, before shifting gears dramatically with Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Triptii Dimri. Animal emerged as a major box office blockbuster and reset the intensity of his star image.

In 2022, he was seen in Shamshera and Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra Part One: Shiva alongside Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan. Those films placed him in large-format storytelling, but Ramayana carries a very different kind of expectation because of the cultural and moral imagination attached to Lord Ram. That is what makes this phase especially important. Alongside Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s confirmed Love & War, co-starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, Ramayana positions Ranbir at a point where box office draw, mythic symbolism and long-term legacy are meeting at once.
