Ranbir Kapoor To Begin Shooting For Ramayana Part Two In May, Makers Prepare to Film Crucial ‘Ashok Vatika’ Scene With Sai Pallavi

Ranbir Kapoor will begin the filming of Ramayana Part Two in May. Sai Pallavi is currently shooting for her part.

Ranbir Kapoor is all set to deck up as Lord Ram to shoot Ramayana Part Two. Nitesh Tiwari plans to begin filming the second chapter in early May. The first part is nearly complete, and the team is quickly moving ahead with the next part.

Ranbir is currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love And War. Insiders say he might juggle both projects next month. The team recently held look tests at Film City to help him get back into the Lord Ram avatar.

Ranbir Kapoor To Start Shooting Ramayana Part Two In May

A source revealed to mid-day, “Ranbir is shooting Love And War now. From next month, the actor may juggle the two projects for a brief time. Since there is a visible change in his avatar for the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, the team held a look test to see how he could fit back into the avatar of Lord Ram. They also went through his costumes. Since the second part has a darker and intense graph, the outfits need to reflect that.”

Makers Set To Shoot Ashok Vatika Scenes, Two Songs

The sequel has a more serious and emotional storyline. The costumes and visuals will reflect this change. Right now, the makers are gearing up to shoot the Ashok Vatika scenes, which are one of the most important parts of the story.

Sai Pallavi (who plays Sita) will shoot this major portion in the upcoming schedule. Another source shared, “Sai Pallavi, who plays Sita, will film the Ashok Vatika portions in this leg. Two songs are also lined up for this stint, and will be wrapped before the monsoons hit the city.”

The team plans to finish filming Part Two by October, if all goes as planned.

More About Ranbir Kapoor Starrer Ramayana

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is already one of the most hyped projects in Indian cinema. The cast includes Ranbir as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. The film has kept fans talking since it was announced.

Recently, it was revealed that actor Jaideep Ahlawat was approached to play Vibhishan, Ravana’s noble brother. Sources said he wanted to join the film but couldn’t find space in his schedule. The makers hoped to cast him, but the dates didn’t match.

Vibhishan’s role has faced casting delays before. Last year, rumours suggested that Vijay Sethupathi was also in talks for the role, but that plan didn’t go through either.

For the unversed, this two-part saga is slated for release in Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027.
