India is all set to host one of its biggest entertainment events. The first World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) will take place from May 1 to May 4, 2025. The venue is the Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai, and the buzz has already begun.
On April 16, PIB officials met a select group of journalists in Mumbai. Smita Vats Sharma, Dharmendra Tewari, and Sayyid Rabeehashmi led the discussion. PIB officers Sriyanka Chatterjee and Sonal Tupe also joined them. They shared key details about the summit and what people can expect.
Shah Rukh Khan And Other Industry A-Listers Attending WAVES 2025
WAVES brings together some of the biggest names in entertainment. Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan are part of the advisory board. South legends like Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, and Chiranjeevi are also involved. A.R. Rahman, S.S. Rajamouli, Bhushan Kumar, and Ektaa Kapoor are among the creative powerhouses joining in.
The lineup doesn’t stop at films and music. Business and tech leaders are also supporting WAVES. Mukesh Ambani, Adar Poonawalla, Satya Nadella, Sundar Pichai, and Netflix CEO Theodore Sarandos are part of the team. Their presence adds global value to the summit.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a roundtable with global CEOS during the event. The summit includes conferences, exhibitions, panel talks, and interactive sessions. One of the main features is the WAVEXcelerator, a platform where startups in media and entertainment can pitch their ideas to investors.
Creators will get their own space too. CreatoSphere will serve as a hotspot for artists, influencers, and content makers. There’s also a Waves Bazaar, inspired by IFFI’s Film Bazaar, where people can network, trade content, and discover fresh talent.
The summit also brings in a wave of competitions. There will be contests for anime, animation filmmaking, VFX, esports, AI avatar creation, film posters, trailers, theme music, and even anti-piracy solutions. The organisers have already received thousands of entries from across the country.
