Randeep Hooda is moving swiftly from a life-changing personal milestone to a work mode reset. Days after welcoming his first child with wife Lin Laishram, the actor has already completed the first schedule of a new, yet-untitled feature that tackles a subject rarely explored with seriousness in mainstream storytelling, the real world fallout of misleading advertisements.
The timing feels telling. Hooda, who has repeatedly gravitated towards roles rooted in realism and moral complexity, is kicking off what is being positioned as his first film project post fatherhood with a narrative drawn from true events and built around everyday stakes.
The Latest Update On Randeep Hooda’s New Film
As of March 17, 2026, Hooda has wrapped the first schedule of the untitled project and is preparing for the next leg of filming, which begins towards the end of March in rural Haryana. The setting is not incidental. The makers are mounting the next schedule in the region to capture an unvarnished, lived-in texture that aligns with the film’s premise and Hooda’s character.
In the film, Hooda plays a Haryanvi Jaat, a part that leans into his reputation for physical, dialect-driven authenticity. The story examines how misleading advertisements can alter decisions and damage lives, anchoring its drama in the ripple effects felt by ordinary people.
The project is directed by Anjit Bhatnagar, and the team behind it includes five National Award-winning members, lending considerable weight to the film’s creative intentions. The film is also backed by a prominent producer from the South film industry, suggesting a scale that matches its ambition, even while staying content-first.
On the personal front, Hooda and Laishram announced the birth of their baby girl on March 10. In the couple’s note, Hooda wrote, “Today, as I become a father, my appreciation for you has only grown deeper, Papa. And most importantly, Lin, thank you for making me a father and for bringing our little girl into this world. A little girl and a lifetime of love.”
Randeep Hooda’s Recent And Upcoming Work

Before that, he fronted Swatantrya Veer Savarkar (2024), where he took on the central role of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar and also served as director, writer, and producer, marking a major creative pivot in his career.
In 2024, he also appeared in Tera Kya Hoga Lovely, expanding his slate with a contemporary, rooted story. On the longer horizon, Hooda has a major announced project in the epic war drama Operation Khukri, based on the book Operation Khukri: The Untold Story of the Indian Army’s Bravest Peacekeeping Mission Abroad, in which he is set to portray Major General Raj Pal Punia.
