Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar is not heading to OTT on a one-size-fits-all schedule. The film’s digital rollout has taken an unusual turn, with overseas viewers set to get it first and the India premiere arriving 20 days later, after IPL 2026, giving the film a staggered streaming plan that is already drawing attention.
Why Dhurandhar’S India Ott Timing Stands Out
Here is the twist in Dhurandhar’s digital journey. The film will debut first on OTT in international markets, while its India streaming release has been pushed to a later date, landing 20 days after the overseas launch and only once IPL 2026 is out of the way.
For audiences abroad, Dhurandhar 2 is set to stream on Netflix from May 14-15, 2026, based on regional time zones. Internationally, the film is being screened as Dhurandhar: The Revenge (Raw & Undekha) or Raw & Unseen, hinting at the uncut version.
Ahead of the film’s premiere, viewers will also get access to a specially curated 30-minute pre-show featuring candid cast conversations, behind-the-scenes stories, as well as fun moments and insights into the making of the film.
However, while the global audience can enjoy the film May 15 onwards, Indian viewers will have to wait until June 4, 2026, to watch Dhurandhar: The Revenge. This is because, unlike the global release on Netflix, the film’s streaming rights in India have been acquired by JioHotstar. The platform is, however, currently streaming the cricket tournament, Indian Premier League (IPL), which concludes on May 31. Hence, the film will be streamed only after IPL is over to ensure maximum viewership.
That gap matters. For a major Ranveer Singh release, the delayed India drop suggests the makers want the film to arrive when it can command conversation on its own terms, instead of competing with the annual television and streaming frenzy that IPL brings. In an entertainment landscape where timing can shape a title’s afterlife almost as much as the theatrical run, Dhurandhar is clearly being handled with care.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar has been one of the more closely watched Hindi projects on Ranveer’s slate. Dhar’s Uri: The Surgical Strike established his flair for high-pressure drama mounted on a big scale, and that association has only added to the intrigue around this film. While the makers have kept the plot under wraps, the project has been positioned as a theatrical-first Hindi action drama with Ranveer at the centre of it.
The staggered OTT plan now adds another layer of interest. Instead of a standard all-market streaming launch, Dhurandhar is building a second phase of curiosity around when and how Indian viewers will finally get to watch it online.
Where Dhurandhar Fits In Ranveer Singh’S Current Chapter
Ranveer Singh was most recently seen in Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar The Revenge. Singham Again in 2024, directed by Rohit Shetty, where he returned as Simmba in a packed ensemble that included Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, and Tiger Shroff. Before that came Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani in 2023, directed by Karan Johar and co-starring Alia Bhatt, a theatrical success that reminded audiences of his ease in full-blown commercial romance. Cirkus also remains part of his recent run, later finding a second life on OTT after its theatrical release.
That is what makes Dhurandhar particularly important in his current phase. It brings together a filmmaker with a strong visual and dramatic signature, a scale built for the big screen, and now a digital release pattern that has become a talking point in itself. For Ranveer, it is not just another title in the pipeline, it is one of the films most closely tied to what comes next.
