For an actor who turned Khilji into one of Hindi cinema’s most ferocious performances, Ranveer Singh saying Dhurandhar took even more out of him is the kind of revelation that stops you mid-scroll. Why Dhurandhar Took More Out Of Ranveer Than Khilji
Recalling his conversation with Ranveer, Nikunj Biyani shared that the actor described Dhurandhar as more exhausting than Khilji. He quoted him as saying, “This character has been way more challenging for me, as an artist; it has taken so much more out of me. I have had to go deep and give it 300 percent; it has been very demanding.”
That quote lands hard because Khilji was never treated as just another role in Ranveer’s filmography. It became shorthand for the lengths he was willing to go as a performer. Ranveer had earlier spoken about the darkness he accessed while preparing for Padmaavat. “I took 21 days and locked myself up in my Goregaon house. I was completely isolated,” he had said, while also calling the process “dangerous” because he had to tap into “this dark, black space” to fully become Khilji.
