Dhurandhar: The Revenge has quietly changed again in cinemas, and this time the tweak goes beyond fixing a visible production blooper. The latest theatrical print of Aditya Dhar’s action thriller has muted more abusive dialogue, altering portions of Sanjay Dutt’s scenes and cleaning up some supporting character exchanges that had remained intact in the earlier version.
The revised print began screening in theatres over the weekend, after the makers first addressed a continuity slip involving a cameraman’s reflection in a mirror during a key second half sequence. The newer version now carries additional audio censorship, making the changes noticeable for viewers returning to watch the film again.
Before release, the Central Board of Film Certification had recommended 21 modifications to the film. Some objectionable words were muted in the original theatrical version while others were left in place. That balance has now shifted, and the cut currently playing in cinemas is more restrained in its spoken language.
For a film designed as a hard-edged espionage actioner, dialogue is part of the atmosphere as much as the set pieces are. Silencing words without changing the staging leaves the visual aggression intact, but softens the bite of exchanges that were clearly written to feel abrasive and volatile.
Fresh Audio Cuts Change Key Sanjay Dutt Scenes
The most striking alteration appears in the Lyari sequence featuring Sanjay Dutt’s SP Chaudhry Aslam. In the new print, one of his abusive lines has been muted even though the action in the scene remains untouched. Similar treatment has been applied to expletives spoken by supporting characters, which were audible in the earlier version but are now silenced.
That distinction matters. The first correction, involving the mirror-shot cameraman reflection, was a straightforward technical repair. The latest round of muting is a creative and tonal adjustment inside the finished film, which means audiences who caught the earlier print and those watching it now are not seeing exactly the same version.
