Ranveer Singh’s 83 has sold nearly 1 lakh tickets for the opening day, with an overall gross of Rs. 3.50 cr

According to the sources, the movie will make up for the lost earnings on opening day in the long term.

The advance booking for the much-anticipated epic 83, starring Ranveer Singh, began on Sunday across national multiplex chains, and the reaction has been tepid so far. The sports drama, which is based on the life of Kapil Dev, sold roughly 1 lakh seats on its first day, grossing Rs. 3.50 crore.

These are figures as of Thursday lunchtime, and the ultimate advance for the opening day is estimated to be over 1.30 lakh tickets. The opening day advance will be almost 40% lower than Ranveer’s Valentine’s Day release, Gully Boy, which sold 2.10 lakh seats in advance on the first day.

The advance booking predicts that the film will open to a budget of Rs. 14 to 15 crore on its first day, with walk-ins accounting for the majority of the revenue. The ultimate amount could be greater as well, because the Christmas eve parties will boost collections in the evening and night. Multiplexes will drive 83’s business, but single screens are expected to see a surge on Saturday and Sunday as word of mouth spreads.

According to the sources, the movie will make up for the lost earnings on opening day in the long term. However, because the budget of 83 is on the high side, it’s critical to show huge gains over the weekend and maintain them in the long term to emerge as a clear winner.
