Rasha Thadani, who recently made her debut with Azad, has opted out of Lijo Jose Pellissery‘s much-anticipated Bollywood debut film. The young actress was among the first choices for the romantic drama, but had to decline due to scheduling conflicts with her other commitments.
Rasha is the daughter of actress Raveena Tandon and has been generating buzz since her debut. As she gears up for more cinematic ventures, many expected her to headline the Malayalam director’s Hindi film debut. However, things did not work out as planned despite her interest in the project.
Scheduling Conflicts Force Exit
According to sources close to the development, Rasha Thadani was the top contender to star in the romantic drama film directed by Pellissery and produced by Hansal Mehta. The film was announced in October and has been the talk of the town ever since. While Rasha was approached by the makers, unfortunately, there is a date clash that prevented her from taking on a script she truly loved.
Sources revealed that the shoot for her next release, Laikey Laikaa, has been delayed. This requires her to spend even more time completing her portions for that film. The unexpected delay created a domino effect on her schedule, making it impossible for her to commit to the Pellissery project.
Upcoming Commitments Keep Her Busy
After wrapping up Laikey Laikaa, Rasha will begin work on her South debut. The film will see her starring opposite Mahesh Babu’s nephew Jaya Krishna Ghattamaneni. This Telugu film is tentatively titled AB4 and is directed by RX100 fame Ajay Bhupathi. The project is being presented by Kalki 2898 AD producer Ashwini Dutt, making it a significant launch for her in South cinema.
The Lijo Jose Pellissery film was announced as his Bollywood debut after he helmed the Mohanlal starrer Malaikottai Vaaliban. The filmmaker will direct a romantic drama co-produced by himself and Hansal Mehta under the banners Amen Movie Monastery and True Story Films. The movie is written by LJP and Karan Vyas and is touted to be a lyrical exploration of love, longing, and the fragile complexities of human connection.
About The Lijo Jose Pellissery Project
The upcoming romantic drama marks Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Hindi film debut and is co-produced by Hansal Mehta. The film will have music composed by AR Rahman. While the cast is yet to be confirmed, reports suggest that either Rajkumar Hirani’s son Vir Hirani or late Shashi Kapoor’s grandson Zahan Kapoor may play the lead role opposite whoever is finally cast as the female lead.
