Raveena Tandon’s 19-year-old daughter Rasha Thadani is in the spotlight for her debut song “Uyi Amma” from the film Azaad. The track, composed by Amit Trivedi, features Madhubanti Bagchi’s vocals and lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Choreographed by Bosco Leslie Martis, the energetic dance number has sparked mixed reactions.
While some appreciate Rasha’s expressive moves and potential, others question if her entry is more about ‘privilege’ than talent.
Aaman Devgan & Rasha Thadani Make Their Bollywood Debut With Azaad
Rasha’s Bollywood debut isn’t a solo act. Azaad also marks the launch of Ajay Devgn’s nephew, Aaman Devgn, alongside Ajay Devgn and Diana Penty. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, the film follows a skilled horse rider (played by Ajay Devgn) who defies the English army.
Director Kapoor praised Rasha’s efforts and said, “Rasha’s electrifying dance has added the perfect spark, making this track a memorable dance anthem.”
However, opinions about her performance remain divided. Some fans have drawn comparisons to Katrina Kaif, while others feel Rasha might be too young for the role. A few have also criticised the song for catering to the “male gaze.”
Nepo Debate Sparks After The Release Of ‘Uyi Amma’ Song
The release of “Uyi Amma” has also sparked chatter about Rasha’s growing online presence. Many believe her PR team is heavily promoting her debut through social media, flooding platforms with clips and reels.
A Reddit thread poked fun at the campaign, with one user quipping, “No one knows who she is, but her PR team is working overtime to convince us otherwise. Reels, reels everywhere, and the collective reaction is still: Who?”
Another commented, “They’re shoving her down our throats, and she isn’t even good? But of course, this bare minimum will be celebrated because, well, nepo babies.”

Not all feedback has been negative. Some defended Rasha, saying her expressions suited the song and she showed promise. One user wrote, “She’s 19 and technically an adult, so it’s her choice. Her expressions were actually good.”
Whether or not Rasha can silence the “nepo baby” critics remains to be seen. With Azaad set for release soon, the young actress has a lot to prove. For now, her debut continues to fuel conversations about privilege and talent in Bollywood.
