Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein: R Madhavan And Dia Mirza Starrer Romantic Musical Earns 45 Lacs In Two Days Of Re Release, Heading For Good 75 Lacs Plus Weekend

Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein released 23 years ago today. The film had R. Madhavan ,Dia Mirza and Saif Ali khan in the lead and was the perfect romantic drama which redefined love. The film over the years have become cult classic with its melodious tracks like zara zara, sach keh raha hai, dil ko tumse puaar hua which resonates with the youth today even after 2 decades.

Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein Scores In Re Release

The re-release of Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein has indeed been a success! The film, which originally came out in 2001, was re-released on August 30, 2024, and has earned ₹15 lakhs from 300 shows on day one.

Film earned 28 lacs on day two and should be crossing 80 lacs nett over weekend. This is another success after successful re – release of Laila Majnu.

Meanwhile, in the original run, RHTDM had earned just 5.55 crores net at the Indian box office against a budget of 6 crores.

About RHTDM

RHTDM was released in 2001. The film marked the Bollywood debut of Dia Mirza and R. Madhavan. Madhavan made his Hindi theatrical debut after working in Tamil, Kannada, and English films as well as Hindi television shows. The romantic drama, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, was a remake of his own Tamil film Minnale released in the same year.

In the Tamil version, Madhavan’s character was played by Abbas and Dia’s character by Reema Sen. Both movie scripts were co-written by Gautham and Vipul D Shah. RHTDM, despite its moderate success, became a sensation because of its popular musical numbers. Songs like Sach Keh Raha Hai, Dil Ko Tumse, Zara Zara, and the different versions of the title track were loved by the millennials.
