The re-release wave in Indian cinema continues to build momentum with Shah Rukh Khan fans in for a treat this September. Following a year of re-releases, including Rockstar (2011) and Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein (2001), September will bring two major Shah Rukh Khan classics back to the big screen.
Shah Rukh Khan Starrer Veer-Zaara & Pardes To Re-Release In Theatres
Veer-Zaara (2004) will make its return to cinemas on September 13. The film, which originally captured hearts with its poignant love story, will have select daily showings. If the demand is high, more shows will be added, ensuring fans get ample opportunities to relive this beloved film.
In addition to Veer-Zaara, another Shah Rukh Khan favourite, Pardes (1997), is set to return to theatres. The film, directed by Subhash Ghai and featuring Mahima Chaudhry and Apurva Agnihotri, is expected to hit cinemas on September 20 or 27. The exact date will be confirmed soon.
Anil Kapoor’s Taal & Tezaab To Also Return In Cinemas
September also promises more nostalgia with the re-release of Ghai’s Taal (1999), which stars Akshaye Khanna, Anil Kapoor, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The musical is slated for a September 20 release, adding to the month’s excitement.
Anil Kapoor fans will also have reason to celebrate. Tezaab (1988), featuring the iconic song ‘Ek Do Teen’, may make a comeback later in the month. Zee Studios is reportedly considering its re-release for the latter half of September.
The re-release trend doesn’t stop there. Tumbbad (2018), initially set for August 30, will now be shown on September 13. The film, known for its unique storytelling, has created buzz around its return.
The industry is also abuzz with the success of Laila Majnu (2018), which, despite its modest box office performance upon its initial release, is now expected to see significantly higher collections with its re-release. Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), starring Salman Khan, is another classic that continues to draw audiences.
