Sooraj Barjatya and Salman Khan are set to reunite for a new film, ending a nearly decade-long search for the perfect script. Barjatya, who last directed Uunchai in 2022, and Khan, whose last collaboration with the director was 2015 hit Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, are teaming up again. Despite rumours, the new project is not titled Prem Ki Shaadi.
According to a report from Bollywood Hungama, a friend of Barjatya’s dismissed the Prem Ki Shaadi speculation.
“Sooraj ji is not making anything titled Prem Ki Shaadi. It is a totally different script. He is coming together again with Salman,” the friend clarified.

This upcoming film marks the fifth collaboration between the director and actor, following their iconic debut with Maine Pyar Kiya, which launched Khan’s career as a leading man.
The duo’s partnership has consistently delivered blockbusters, with Prem Ratan Dhan Payo being their last project together. Since then, they have struggled to find a story that resonates with both of them.
However, a source close to the project confirmed that they have finally found a concept they are both excited about. “For nine years, Soorajji and Salman Bhai have been looking for a script that would bring them together again after Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. They’ve finally cracked an idea that they both like,” the source said.
The source also teased that this new film will be unlike anything Barjatya and Khan have done before, either individually or together.
The Project Is Expected To Go On Floors In Early 2025
The film is set to begin production early next year. While details about the plot and title are still under wraps, fans can expect something fresh and unique from this beloved duo.
The last Barjatya-Khan collaboration, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, was a modern fairytale exploring the themes of wealth, identity, and the duality of modern India. It featured Khan in a dual role.
