Salman Khan’s much-awaited action film Sikandar faced an unexpected hurdle on Wednesday, September 25, when heavy rains in Mumbai brought the shoot to a halt.
The crew, directed by AR Murugadoss, had been filming a large-scale action sequence at SRPF Ground in Goregaon. However, the intense downpour forced the team to cancel the all-night shoot due to safety concerns.
Salman Khan’s Sikandar Shoot Hit By Heavy Rains
According to a mid-day report, the film crew had been working on set since late August, meticulously preparing for the action-packed sequence. On the day of the disruption, Salman Khan arrived at the set at 5 pm, ready to shoot overnight.
A source close to the production revealed, “The shoot was to start at 7 pm, and the crew was on the set by 3 pm. But given the incessant rains, the direction team decided to call off the shoot for the day. The IMD had issued a red alert by then, and there was no way the team could have pulled off a night shoot in that weather.”
One of the major concerns was the lighting setup, which posed a risk of electrical short circuits in the wet conditions. With safety in mind, the production team made the call to pause the shoot.
Team Resumes Filming Today, Said The Source
Despite the delay, the production team remains confident. The same source mentioned, “The two-day delay won’t have a major impact on the overall shooting schedule. The team is aiming to resume filming on Friday, weather permitting.”
Sikandar, starring Salman Khan alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Sathyaraj, is shaping up to be an action-packed film. Fans are eagerly awaiting its release, which is scheduled for Eid 2025.
