Amitabh Bachchan on Tuesday shared a new poster of his upcoming mystery thriller ‘Chehre’ that also stars Emraan Hashmi in a leading role.
In the poster the lead stars, were joined by their supporting cast, including Annu Kapoor, Krystle D’Souza, Drithiman Chakroborthy, Raghubir Yadav and Siddhanth Kapoor.
However, one person visibly missing from the poster and the credits was actress Rhea Chakraborty.
Audiences and Twitterati were quick to take note of how the actress was neither tagged on social media in Bachchan’s Tweet that read, “#Chehre se bada koi naqaab nahi hota!Uncover the real #Chehre, much-awaited mystery-thriller, in theatres on 30th April2021 #FaceTheGame @emraanhashmi @anandpandit63 #RumyJafry @annukapoor_ @krystledsouza @SiddhanthKapoor #RaghubirYadav #DhritimanChatterjee #SaraswatiFilms.
Twitter users soon pointed out that the makers chose to not include Rhea Chakraborty in the poster, despite the fact that the actress had herself released her look for Chehre close to two years ago. Tagging Amitabh Bachchan and Emran Hashmi, Rhea had written, “Chehre bohot dekhe magar aaj dekha apna chehra. Aankhon mein sawal bohot see, zehen mein soch ka pehra (I’ve seen many faces but today I saw my own. There are several questions in the eyes and the mind is guarded) (sic).”
However director of the movie Rumi had said Rhea will make a comeback in movies in 2021. Speaking to Source, Rumi had said, “The year was distressing for everyone. But in Rhea’s case, the trauma was of another level altogether. We can’t even imagine that a girl from a well-to-do middle-class family has to spend a month in jail. That crushed her morale completely. [But] She will get back to work early next year. I met Rhea recently. She was quiet and withdrawn and I can’t blame her after what she has gone through. Once the dust settles I am sure Rhea has a lot to say.”
