Fardeen Khan made a smashing comeback with the web series Heeramandi. Directed by iSanjay Leela Bhansali, it premiered on Netflix, where Khan played Wali Bin Zayed-Al Mohammed. However, before signing up for Heeramandi, Khan had already committed to Visfot, his comeback film. Now, Visfot is skipping a theatrical release and will premiere directly on an OTT platform.
Ritesh Deshmukh-Fardeen Khan’s Visfot To Directly Release On JioCinema
According to a trade source speaking to Bollywood Hungama, “Visfot has been bought by Jio Cinema and it is expected to be out very soon. It is produced by Sanjay Gupta whose directorial venture The Miranda Brothers will also release on the streaming giant. Visfot, however, will be released first on Jio Cinema followed by The Miranda Brothers.”
In December 2022, Sanjay Gupta revealed to the media portal that both these films were always meant for a digital release, stating, “We were clear that it’ll go straight to digital. We shot those films accordingly. So, from day 1, it was decided that these will be OTT releases.”
He also added, “Nevertheless, despite these films being digital, they are very cinematic. A lot of the content created in India in Hindi which is released directly on the OTT platforms is not cinematic. Usme woh bade parde waali baat nahin hai. I am trying to bridge that gap in my films. When you watch (Visfot or my directorial venture), you’ll remark ‘Yeh bade parde ki picture main chote parde pe dekh raha hoon’.”
About Visfot & The Miranda Brothers
Visfot, a thriller film, stars Riteish Deshmukh and Fardeen Khan. Produced by Sanjay Gupta’s White Feather Films and T-Series, it’s the official Hindi adaptation of the 2012 Venezuelan film Rock, Paper, and Scissor. As per reports, Riteish plays a pilot whose son gets kidnapped by Fardeen’s character.
On the other hand, The Miranda Brothers is a sports drama directed by Sanjay Gupt. It features Harshvardhan Rane and Meezaan Jaaferi in lead roles. Set against the backdrop of Goa, the film revolves around football. Its dialogues are penned by Milap Zaveri.
