As Rituparna Sengupta missed out on the 28th Kolkata International Film Festival 2022 due to personal commitments, the actress opened up on her equation with Shah Rukh Khan and the changing perspective of heroines in Indian Cinema.
Talking to Hindustan Times, she informed about how she missed the whole opening ceremony as she can’t attend the Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) due to a family emergency.
When asked about her interaction with Shah Rukh Khan, she described him as the most valuable, respectful and welcoming. She believes his Stardom is endless, he is not in a run to do many movies and that’s what makes him special. The actress further said, “The other name for success is Shah Rukh khan.”
Remembering her collaboration with SRK, she said, “We have actually done a commercial for Sondachandi. We have been together at many events.” The actress also shared her excitement as SRK is coming back with Pathaan after 4 years.
When asked about the shelf life of a female actor, the Bengali superstar said, “It was a very bad taboo that we used to have. But luckily things have changed over the years.” She further said that she has started seeing herself as somebody who can be a part of a subject that people will talk about her instead of just male actors in the film.
On the work front, she will be seen in Arindam Sil’s Mayakumari and Mahishasur Marddini. In Hindi films, she has Bansuri, Good Morning Sunshine, Jihad, Ittar, Tere Aane Se and Salt in her kitty.
