Mumbai Police have arrested actor and fitness influencer Sahil Khan over his alleged involvement in the Mahadev betting app case. The arrest took place in Chhattisgarh by the Mumbai cyber cell’s Special Investigating Team (SIT) after the Bombay High Court rejected his plea for pre-arrest bail.
The SIT had initially summoned Sahil and three others for questioning in December 2023, but Sahil failed to appear. He asserted that he was merely a brand promoter, contracted to M/s. Isports247 to endorse The Lion Book brand, and denied any direct link to the betting platform. However, police contended that he was a co-owner of the app. Sahil has been brought to Mumbai from Raipur.
Sahil Khan Reacts To His Arrest In Mahadev Betting App Case
In response to his arrest, Sahil stated, “I believe in the judiciary of the country.” He clarified that his contract involved a 24-month duration with a monthly remuneration of 3 lakhs for posting promotional content on his social media platforms.
Despite his claims, the court dismissed his bail plea, citing his purported direct involvement in the illicit operation.

Sahil Khan Was Summoned In The Same Case In 2023
In 2023, the crime branch looked into the Mahadev betting app case and called Sahil Khan and three others to give statements on December 15. However, Khan didn’t show up for questioning and stayed active on social media. He even shared a picture of himself in a pool with the caption, “Good morning, Jumma Mubarak.” This drew criticism as he seemed to ignore the police summons.
As reported by IANS, authorities stated that Sahil Khan, known for fitness and YouTube, allegedly organized celebrity events to promote the app and attract more users. The case is also being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate, with other Bollywood actors facing scrutiny due to crackdowns on various betting and gaming apps by different agencies.
