Saiyaara Makes History As The First-Ever YRF Theatrical Film To Get A Netflix Premiere

Saiyaara is proving to be a film of many firsts. It launched the much-anticipated debut of Ahaan Panday and marked the first-ever collaboration between blockbuster director Mohit Suri and Yash Raj Films (YRF). Now, it’s making history again, this time in the streaming world. In a significant move, Saiyaara is set to become the first theatrical release from YRF to have Netflix as its official post-theatrical streaming partner.

A Historic Shift In Streaming Strategy

For years, film enthusiasts have grown accustomed to watching YRF’s theatrical blockbusters on Amazon Prime Video. That tradition is about to change. The confirmation of this new partnership appeared directly on the big screen, with the Netflix logo featured during Saiyaara’s end credit song. This development signals a major new chapter for the prestigious production house and the global streaming giant, setting a new precedent for YRF’s future theatrical slate.

While this is the first theatrical film to bridge the gap between YRF and Netflix, the two powerhouses are no strangers. YRF’s digital arm, YRF Entertainment, has already built a strong relationship with Netflix by producing a string of successful series and digital films, including The Romantics, the critically acclaimed The Railway Men, the courtroom drama Maharaj, and the recent mystery thriller Mandala Murders.

Box Office Triumph Continues

This landmark streaming deal comes as Saiyaara continues to dominate the box office. The romantic musical saga, starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has been unstoppable, capturing the hearts of audiences nationwide. The film is on a victory lap, projected to cross the monumental ₹300 crore mark by the end of its third weekend. Given its incredible theatrical success, fans will have to wait for the Netflix premiere, as the film’s cinematic run is far from over.
