Saiyami Kher roped in for R Balki’s sports drama starring Abhishek Bachchan!

The film is set to hit theatres next year.

For the first time, Abhishek Bachchan and R Balki are collaborating on a cricket drama. It was also revealed that Abhishek will portray a left-handed cricketer in the film. And now there’s a new update on this movie. We’ve learned that Saiyami Kher has joined the cast of this sports drama as the female lead.

“Like Abhishek, even Saiyami will be seen playing the role of a cricketer in this film. The makers were on a lookout for someone who understands the sport of cricket and after several rounds of auditions, have finalized on Saiyami Kher. For those unaware. Saiyami is an avid sport lover and a master in cricket,” revealed a source close to the development to Pinkvilla.

The film is set to hit theatres next year. Saiyami made her acting debut in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Mirzya, and she most recently received praise for her role in Choked. According to a source, Abhishek and Saiyami will play left-handed cricketers in the film, which is based on a true storey set in the world of cricket. This will be Jr. B’s first collaboration with Balki, who has previously worked with The Big B, Amitabh Bachchan, on projects such as Cheeni Kum, Paa, and Shamitabh.

Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan, Pooja Bhatt, and Shreya Dhanwanthary star in Balki’s next psychological thriller Chup, which is now in post-production. The plot of the film is reported to revolve around the life of a protagonist who is a Guru Dutt admirer. In the meantime, Abhishek Bachchan is filming the third season of Breathe. In addition, the actor has two upcoming projects: the Shah Rukh Khan-produced Bob Biswas and Dinesh Vijan’s eagerly anticipated Dasvi. The release dates of the respective films have yet to be confirmed.
