Salman Khan Hopes For Spike In Collections Of Tiger 3 From Monday Post World Cup, Will Audience And Fans Listen To Superstar?

The much-awaited action thriller Tiger 3, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, released on Diwali festival, 12th November. The film, directed by Maneesh Sharma, is the third installment of the popular Tiger franchise, which revolves around the adventures of a spy couple played by Salman and Katrina.

Film released in middle of a lot of box office expectations and fanfare. Salman Khan was making a comeback after disastrous Eid release and his home production Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Tiger 3 had a few things going for it: 3rd instalment of blockbuster franchise, solo festive release, part of much celebrated spy universe specially after All Time Blockbuster success of Pathaan.

But despite a good opening, the film continued to slide down from day 4 onwards. Film stands close to 200 cr nett domestic total and $9 million overseas gross which is way below expectations. Film needs minimum 400 cr nett for saving grace as it is a costly proposition of 385 – 400 cr.

Salman Khan Still Hopes For Good Collections Post World Cup Fever

Yesterday at an event, cast of Tiger 3 celebrated the film’s success (yes it’s already been done!). Salman Khan spoke about exceptional performance of a Indian Men’s cricket team in ongoing 50 over World Cup. He also added that Tiger 3 has opened good with 43 cr day one and requested audience to comeback to cinemas from Monday after World Cup final.

Salman Khan said, “”India Sari matches Jeet Raha hai, Final bhi Jeet jayega, #Tiger3 collection achhe aa rahe he, Final khatam hote hi aapko wapis Theatres Jana hai.”

Will Audience Comeback Post World Cup For Tiger 3?

One thing is a fact that the film didn’t perform as per expectations. It’s trailing behind 6 year old release of same cast and same franchise Tiger Zinda Hai. Now to expect film to perform from Monday onwards is too much to ask for. Though an upsurge can’t be entirely ruled out but it doesn’t happen in modern times once initial euphoria around the film dies down.

It’s an intriguing thing to observe whether audience will come back and make Tiger 3 at least an average proposition.
