Salman Khan, Karan Johar, Vishnuvardhan Gear Up To Take High Octane Action-Thriller To Floors In December

Superstar Salman Khan is set to headline an action thriller produced by Karan Johar and directed by Vishnuvardhan. The film, which is yet to be titled, will go on floors in December, with casting being finalised next month. As per media reports, Samantha Ruth Prabhu has been approached who was in Mumbai recently to read the script and discuss with the director.

The film will be Vishnuvardhan‘s second Hindi film after his National Award-winning debut, Shershaah. It is said to be set against the backdrop of the Indian Army and is expected to be a high-octane action thriller. 

 

Salman Khan-led Action-Thriller to go on floors in December

A source close to the development revealed to Pinkvilla, “The script, screenplay, and dialogue draft are locked. Basic prep work is also done and Vishnu intends to dive completely into the world of this war-based action thriller from October. The team is targeting to start the film with a brief schedule in the first half of December and then reunite for a marathon shoot in January”

It was reported earlier, Salman Khan will begin shooting for Vishnuvardhan’s film after the release of Tiger 3, which is slated to hit the screens on Diwali 2023.   The report also stated that Salman Khan will shoot for the film in multiple schedules. After wrapping up the first schedule in mid-November to mid-December, he will take a break and resume shooting in January for 30-45 days. After completing a major chunk of the film, he will switch gears and work on Tiger vs Pathaan, a crossover film that will feature him and Shah Rukh Khan as their respective spy characters from the Tiger franchise and Pathaan.

 

Casting to be finalised for yet-untitled Vishnuvardhan directorial

A source close to the development revealed, “Of course, there are two names that have been discussed internally. Karan and Vishnu will start having conversations with actors for the action thriller set against the backdrop of Indian Army from October,”

This film is touted to be a big deal for a number of reasons. First, it brings together three of the biggest names in Bollywood: Salman Khan, Karan Johar, and Vishnuvardhan. Salman Khan is one of the most popular and successful stars in the industry, Karan Johar is one of the most successful producers, and Vishnuvardhan is one of the most talented directors.

Second, the film is being planned on a massive scale. It is said to be one of the biggest action thrillers ever made in Bollywood, with a huge budget and a star-studded cast. Third, the film is set against the backdrop of the Indian Army, and it is sure to generate a lot of interest among audiences.

Salman Khan to undergo physical transformation

“Salman is committed to getting in the shape to play a paramilitary officer. He is hitting the gym daily and following a strict diet,” the source mentioned that Salman Khan is undergoing physical transformation for the film. He will also lose some weight for the role.

Salman Khan is currently gearing up for the release of Tiger 3, which in one of the most anticipated films of this year. Karan Johar is also on a roll with his production house, Dharma Productions, delivering back-to-back hits like Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva. It is also worth noting that Vishnuvardhan is known for making films that are both entertaining and thought-provoking. His previous Hindi film, Shershaah, was a critical and commercial success, and it earned him the National Award for Best Director.

The film is expected to release on Christmas 2024 weekend.
