Salman Khan and Nayanthara Start Shooting Today in Mumbai for Vamshi Paidipally’s SVC63, Eid 2027 Release Planned

One of the more unexpected star pairings in mainstream Indian cinema has officially moved to the floor. Salman Khan and Nayanthara have started shooting today in Mumbai for Vamshi Paidipally’s tentatively titled SVC63, bringing the two stars together on screen for the first time and giving the film a major production milestone right at the start of its journey.

The project began its first schedule on April 18 in Goregaon, with producer Dil Raju backing the film and the team launching work on a large set created for the opening leg. After weeks of attention around the casting, the film has now shifted firmly into active production.

Shoot Opens With A Major Mumbai Launch

The first schedule is underway at SRPF Ground in Goregaon, Mumbai, with the initial phase expected to focus on Salman Khan’s portions. A pooja ceremony was also part of the launch-day plan, marking the formal start of filming for the project.

The production is expected to move across multiple locations over the next three months, with principal photography targeted for completion by August or September 2026. The makers are planning the film for an Eid 2027 theatrical release, a festive corridor that has historically amplified Salman Khan’s reach with family audiences and holiday footfalls.

Paidipally comes into the film after directing Yevadu, Oopiri, Maharshi and Varisu, making this his first collaboration with Salman Khan. That directorial shift is one of the film’s biggest talking points, and it feeds directly into the project’s wider casting strategy.

Ensemble Casting Gives The Film Its Shape

SVC63 is the working title of the film, which stars Salman Khan and Nayanthara in the lead, with Arvind Swamy and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles. Produced by Dil Raju, the film is being mounted as a mainstream action entertainer aimed at the theatrical market, with the confirmed cast alone setting up strong expectations around confrontation, star presence and commercial packaging.

That ensemble is also what gives the film added edge beyond its lead pairing. Arvind Swamy brings proven dramatic weight, while Anil Kapoor adds familiarity and command in high-energy commercial storytelling. With Paidipally directing and Eid 2027 already marked as the target release window, the film is clearly being positioned for a festive audience turnout rather than a routine release frame.

Why This Pairing Matters For Salman Khan And Nayanthara

For Salman Khan, SVC63 follows Sikandar in 2025, after Tiger 3 and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan in 2023, continuing his preference for theatrical star vehicles. For Nayanthara, the film adds another major Hindi title to a career that has moved fluidly across Tamil cinema and wider national visibility in recent years.

What makes this project stand out is the combination itself. Salman’s long-standing festive box office association and Nayanthara’s strong screen presence create a pairing that feels fresh without needing reinvention. With shooting now underway in Mumbai, SVC63 has locked in its first real momentum, and the Eid 2027 plan gives it a release frame that matches its casting ambition.
