Main Vaapas Aaunga First Song Kya Kamaal Hai Out Now, Diljit Dosanjh, A R Rahman And Imtiaz Ali Bring A Stirring Ode To Hope

A major music pairing has landed, and it is already giving Main Vaapas Aaunga a strong emotional identity. The film’s first song, Kya Kamaal Hai, brings Diljit Dosanjh and A. R. Rahman together in an original track under Imtiaz Ali’s storytelling, instantly making it one of the most closely watched soundtrack launches of the season. With Irshad Kamil on lyrics, the song arrives carrying both star power and creative pedigree.

What makes the track stand out is its refusal to chase noise. Instead, Kya Kamaal Hai leans into grace, reflection and the idea of hope in difficult times. The makers say the song is inspired by love that survived the trauma of Partition, and that emotional thread gives the composition a quiet depth. For a film built around longing, separation and endurance, this first release works as both a mood piece and a statement of intent.

A Dream Music Trio Sets The Tone

Imtiaz Ali has framed the track as a response to a fractured present, connecting today’s anxieties with the emotional scars of 1947. In his words, the song arrives at a time when “all of us need hope and positivity,” and that thought clearly shapes its atmosphere. Rather than introducing the film with a high-energy number, the team has chosen a softer, more contemplative opening note.

Diljit Dosanjh said the song is “very close to my heart” and described it as something that makes listeners pause and feel. He also called working with Imtiaz Ali special because his world feels “real, nothing forced, nothing superficial,” while collaborating with Rahman remains an honour. That sense of sincerity comes through in the song’s tone, which is designed to stay with the listener rather than overwhelm them instantly.

Rahman, meanwhile, said working with Imtiaz Ali and Irshad Kamil feels like continuing an ongoing creative conversation. He added that after sharing space on Amar Singh Chamkila, this project allowed him and Diljit Dosanjh to collaborate in a more direct musical way. Irshad Kamil called Kya Kamaal Hai “a dream” of love, peace and hope, while Tips Music’s Kumar Taurani said the song reflects a commitment to meaningful, soulful music that connects deeply with audiences.

Main Vaapas Aaunga Builds Its World With A Strong Cast

Set in Imtiaz Ali’s evocative world of love and longing, Main Vaapas Aaunga stars Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari Wagh and Vedang Raina in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Sameer Nair and Deepak Segal for Applause Entertainment, along with Mohit Choudhary and Shibasish Sarkar for Window Seat Films. Tips Music is backing the soundtrack, and the film is scheduled to release in cinemas on June 12, 2026.

As a first musical drop, Kya Kamaal Hai does more than establish mood. It positions Main Vaapas Aaunga as a soundtrack-led film with strong crossover appeal, powered by names that carry real weight across cinema and music. If the song finds the audience it is clearly aiming for, the film’s promotional campaign may well build around its music as much as its story in the run-up to release.
