Salman Khan is not backing down. He is taking a strong stand against allegations published by Asia News International (ANI). The article, released on September 4, included comments from lawyer Amit Mishra.
Mishra represents two individuals linked to a shooting incident near Khan’s home in Mumbai. The article claimed that Khan had “known connections” with the underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim’s network, also known as “D-Company.”
Salman Khan Denies Any Connection, Sends Legal Notice Demanding Apology
According to a report in Live Law India, Khan has responded with a legal notice through his attorneys at DSK Legal. He is demanding a public apology and the removal of the article. Khan asserts that the claims are unfounded and defamatory, aiming to damage his hard-earned reputation.
The original piece referred to Mishra’s statements about his clients, Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, who reportedly faced threats from individuals tied to D-Company.
Mishra suggested that Khan’s supposed ties to this group raised suspicions about his involvement with the accused.
However, in his legal notice, Khan firmly denies these allegations, stating, “Our client denies all the allegations made by Mishra against him in the Impugned Article and states that the allegations therein are absolutely false, baseless, malicious, grossly defamatory, misleading, damaging.”
Salman’s Team Calls The News Fake & Attempt To Gain Media Attention
Khan’s legal team argues that the claims are not just false, but also a deliberate attempt to attract media attention at his expense. They criticise Mishra and ANI for promoting misinformation and stirring unnecessary controversy.
According to Khan, these statements distract from the actual events surrounding the firing incident and are intended to generate public sympathy for the accused. He expresses his frustration, saying, “This is nothing but a tactic to gather sympathy from the public at large, and to distract their attention from the matter at hand.”
Khan takes these allegations seriously, labelling them misguided and harmful. He stresses that they undermine his standing in the public eye.
“The allegations made against him have no shred of truth and have been made with an intent to defame, malign and harm the reputation and goodwill of our client,” the notice elaborates.
The actor is demanding that ANI and Mishra publish an unconditional apology in major newspapers within 48 hours, along with a retraction of the original article.
He also insists they refrain from making similar statements in the future. His notice warns that failure to comply could lead to legal action: “If you fail to comply with the aforesaid within 48 hours of receipt of this notice, our client shall be constrained to initiate appropriate criminal and/or civil legal proceedings against you.”
Now, let’s wait and watch how ANI and Mishra will respond to Khan’s demands.
