Salman Khan has finally given fans a peek into one of his most talked-about new collaborations, and he did it in classic teasing style. On Friday, the superstar shared a reel from the mahurat of his film with director Vamshi Paidipally, offering the first on-set glimpse of the project and telling followers to hold on a little longer with the line, “Thoda sa sabar.”
The Instagram video featured Salman alongside Nayanthara, along with a clapboard marked “Mahurat” and brief visuals suggesting that the shoot is now underway. The clip ended with a clear release marker, “Shoot begins. #SalmanKhanVamshiPaidipallyFilm EID 2027,” giving the film its first confirmed festival target.
In the caption, Salman kept the mystery alive while acknowledging the excitement around the project. He wrote, “Thoda durr ki sochna chahiye, That’s why announced Eid….. Don’t worry iss wali ka bhi bataenge, when the time is right….. Patience, thoda sa sabar…..” The post also tagged Nayanthara, director Vamshi Paidipally, producer Dil Raju and the Sri Venkateswara Creations banner.
Shoot Begins For Salman Khan And Vamshi Paidipally’s New Film
With that brief reel, weeks of chatter instantly turned into a concrete production launch. The film is being produced by Dil Raju and Shirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations, a banner that previously backed Paidipally’s Varisu in 2023.
The project has been described as a large-scale action entertainer. The visuals shared by Salman indicate that filming has started in Mumbai. Nayanthara’s appearance in the mahurat reel also puts one major casting detail on record, even as the makers have yet to unveil the full ensemble and technical team.
Paidipally remains best known for mainstream star-led dramas such as Maharshi and Varisu. Maharshi, led by Mahesh Babu, won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, adding further intrigue to his first film with Salman.
Eid 2027 Takes Shape In Salman Khan’s Next Big Screen Move
Salman’s recent screen run has moved across theatrical releases and high-visibility streaming appearances. He was last seen in Sikandar in 2025, after Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan in 2023, while 2024 also had him feature in the documentary series Angry Young Men and continue his long-running association with Bigg Boss.
Now the focus shifts firmly to what comes next. This Vamshi Paidipally directorial is locked for Eid 2027, positioning it as one of Salman’s biggest announced theatrical plays. Another confirmed title in his slate is Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace, listed for release on August 14, 2026 after couple of delays and change of title. With a major festival window already claimed and a fresh action drama officially rolling, Salman is clearly building his next big-screen phase around event cinema.
