The wait is finally over for the fans of Vicky Kaushal, who have been eagerly waiting to see him in the role of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, India’s first and only officer to attain the highest rank of the Indian Army. The teaser of his much-awaited film Sam Bahadur, directed by Meghna Gulzar, was released today on October 13 and has received a positive response from the audience and critics alike.

The teaser gives a glimpse of the life and achievements of Sam Manekshaw, who led the Indian forces to victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war that resulted in the creation of Bangladesh. Vicky Kaushal is seen walking in all glory as Sam Bahadur, sporting his iconic uniform, moustache and medals. The teaser also showcases some of the historic moments from the war, such as the surrender of Pakistani forces, the liberation of Dhaka and the birth of a new nation.
The film also features Sanya Malhotra as Silloo Manekshaw, Sam’s wife, Fatima Sana Shaikh as Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India, and Neeraj Kabi as General Jagjit Singh Aurora, the Eastern Army Commander. The film has been shot at various real locations over a period of two years and promises to be a tribute to the legendary officer and his contribution to the nation.
Sam Bahadur is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and is slated to hit the theatres on December 1, 2023. The teaser will also be screened during the India vs Pakistan World Cup match on October 14. The film is expected to clash with Ranbir Kapoor’s crime drama Animal at the box office.

According to reports, the teaser of Sam Bahadur will also be screened during the India vs Pakistan World Cup match on October 14, which is expected to be watched by millions of cricket fans across the world. A source close to the film’s producer Ronnie Screwvala told, “The idea is to reach out to as many people as possible and invite them to experience this heroic tale of Field Marshal, Sam Manekshaw.”
