Based on the lives and times of Rajput ruler Prithviraj Chauhan, Samrat Prithviraj is a film written and directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi. In the theatres, it didn’t get very positive reviews. The movie’s box office performance has likewise been dismal. After Jayeshbhai Jordaar, which starred Ranveer Singh in the lead role, this is Aditya Chopra’s second consecutive failure. Due to zero attendance, the movie’s showings had to be cancelled. With Samrat Prithviraj, history has done it once more. According to the National Herald, Akshay Kumar, the historical drama’s star, is being blamed for the film’s failure.
A source said, “He wouldn’t listen. The film required a dedicated concentration. He wouldn’t even grow a real moustache, as he was doing other project simultaneously. When playing someone so historically important, why couldn’t he have done just this one project, and given his best to it?”
Samrat Prithviraj, a Yash Raj Films production, is based on Prithviraj Raso, an epic poem in the Braj language about the life of Prithviraj Chauhan. It depicts the brave King Prithviraj Chauhan’s life. The famous warrior who valiantly battled Muhammad of Ghor is portrayed by Akshay Kumar. Sanyogita, the sweetheart of King Prithviraj Chauhan, is portrayed by Manushi Chhillar. Sonu Sood and Sanjay Dutt are also featured in the movie. On June 3, Samrat Prithviraj was made available in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Following a legal dispute a week before its intended release, the movie’s original title of Prithviraj was changed to Samrat Prithviraj.
